Billie Furrow (19 January 1927) was born in [[wp>Oklahoma|Oklahoma]] to [[george_monroe_furrow_1890|George]] and [[birdie_burnett_1890|Birdie Furrow]]. 

She married [[Paul Eugene Allen (1925)|Paul Allen]] on 11 January 1946. They have five children: [[chester_paul_allen_1947|Chester]], [[David Eugene Allen (1949)|David]], [[paulett_gae_allen_1951|Paulett]], [[roy_monroe_allen_1954|Roy]], and [[jennie_belle_allen_1963|Jennie]]. 

====Residences====

Billie was born on a farm in Oklahoma and lived in [[wp>Waynoka,_Oklahoma|Waynoka]] until at least 1936.((Waynoka School Records https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2LM-FG6K)) When she was around 8 or 9 years old, she moved with her family to the [[wp>Flint_Hills|Flint Hills]] of [[wp>Kansas|Kansas]]. In 1940 she was living in [[wp>Junction_City,_Kansas|Junction City]], Kansas.((1940 US Census https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRK7-WB5)) 

When she was 15 her family moved again, this time to [[wp>Salina,_Kansas|Salina]], Kansas. After marrying her husband she moved briefly to [[wp>San_Diego|San Diego]], [[wp>California|California]] for the remainder of his service. Soon after her husband left the service, he took a job which brought them to [[wp>Amarillo,_Texas|Amarillo]], [[wp>Texas|Texas]].

In 1962 she returned to Kansas before moving again to [[wp>Chicago|Chicago]], [[wp>Illinois|Illinois]]. Four years later, in December 1968, she returned to Kansas.

====Education====

Billie was enrolled in school in Waynoka, Oklahoma in 1933 when she was 6 years old.((Waynoka School Records https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2J6-SP7G)) 

In 1940 she was attending school and had completed the 7th grade.((1940 US Census https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRK7-WB5))

====Employment====

One of Billie's first jobs was as a telephone operator for [[wp>Southwestern_Bell|Southwestern Bell]].

Billie served throughout her life on numerous church committees. One of the earliest was as treasurer of the State Women's Missionary Society while she was in [[wp>Wellington,_Kansas|Wellington]], Kansas. While living in Chicago she served as chairman of the president's council of the local chapter of the WMC.

When Billie returned to Kansas she worked for the trucking industry until 1978 when she served full-time as church secretary until her retirement in 1986. After her retirement she joined the Business and Professional Women Organization and served in multiple offices for the local chapter.
