====Education====

Deane attended Orchard Park, Elementary in Highland, Indiana until she moved to Tonganoxie, Kansas in the early 60s where she attended Basehor-Linwood Elementary. She enrolled in Basehor High School in 1966 and attended until the birth of her first child, Carl, in 1969. Soon after she attended night school to complete her high school education.

She began her college education in the mid 80s at Kansas City Kansas Community College where she earned her Associate Degree. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources in 1993 from Ottawa University in Kansas City.
