Rosa is listed as having attended school for seven months of the year in 1900, and as being able to read and write.((1900 US Census https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MMTS-C4W)) In the 1905, however, 17 year old Rosa is not listed as attending school and is marked as illiterate((1905 Kansas Census https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPZZ-CSK4)) though this is likely an error as all following censuses mark her as literate.
