Mary C. Sertich, (nee Alyea), 68, of Hammond, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 9, 2000 at her home after a short illness.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dan; eight daughters: Pat Backus of Freeland, Michigan, Cathy (Paul) Shearer of Hessville, Indiana, Deane (Ken) White of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Ella Werth of Greensboro, North Carolina, Pam (Craig) Lightcap of Elkhart, Texas, Micki Johnson of Hammond, Indiana, Terri (Rome) Rothgeb of Merrillville, Indiana, and Darla (Wayne) Williamson of Portage, Indiana; two step-children: Lori (George) Merkel of Antioch, Tennessee, and Jeff Sertich of Chicago, Illinois; 23 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three loving friends: Sharon Zasada, Sheila Gibb, and Billie Jo Hutchins; and our Hospice Nurse, Kathy Otto.
Preceded in death by two grandsons: Shawn and Michael Ellis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave, Hammond, Indiana with Deacon Thomas Kriedler officiating.
Burial, Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mary was a devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family.
