The funeral for Sarah Winford Johnston Furrow, 96, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Waynoka Church of God. Rev. John Brint will officiate. Interment will be in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home , Waynoka. The casket will be open at the funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
She was born March 1, 1912 at Junction City, Kan., to John and Sarah Warner Johnston and died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Burlington, Kan. She attended school in Junction City. On July 3, 1937, she married John Melvin Furrow at Junction City. They ranched in the Waynoka area and moved to Salina, Kan. In 1951 they moved to Amarillo, Texas, and returned to Waynoka in 1994. She was a member of Waynoka Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one daughter, Barbara Furrow, one son, Ivan Dean Furrow and six siblings.
Survivors include one daughter, Arbutus Jane Furrow of Burlington; one son, Johnny George Furrow of Alton, Ill.; two sisters, Doris Brum of Abeline, Kan., and Grace Harris of Junction City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
