Services for Paul Eugene Allen, 84, Edwardsville, and formerly of Bonner Springs, were Friday, May 21, at New Life Family Church, Kansas City, Kan. Burial was at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Mr. Allen died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Golden Living Center Parkway Care Home in Edwardsville. He was born June 15, 1925, in Olmitz, the son of Roy and Rose Allen. He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific on the minesweeper USS Spear 322. After the war, he worked for the Santa Fe Railway as a train yard foreman.

He was a member of New Life Family Church and Bonner Springs Veterans of Foreign Wars. A son, Roy Allen, died Feb. 28, 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Willehelmina “Billie” Furrow Allen, of the home; five children, Chester (Yolanda) Allen, David (Barbara) Allen, Paulett (Greg) Goorsky and Jenny (Terry) Eich; a daughter-in-law, Angela Allen; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
