Rosa Speck (15 February 1888) was born in Galatia, Kansas to David and Mary Speck.

She was married to Milton Allen.

Rosa's first listed residence was in Fairview, Kansas¹⁾ where she lived with her parents until at least 1905.²⁾

In 1910 she was living with her husband Milton and their first child Myrtle.³⁾ In 1915 she was living just south of Fairview in Olmitz, Kansas.⁴⁾ In 1920 she was listed as living in Albion, Kansas with 5 children.⁵⁾ By 1930 she was still in Albion, Myrtle had moved out, and her youngest son, Paul, was 4 years old.⁶⁾ In 1940 she was living in Great Bend, Kansas with her husband and two youngest sons.⁷⁾

Rosa is listed as having attended school for seven months of the year in 1900, and as being able to read and write.⁸⁾ In the 1905, however, 17 year old Rosa is not listed as attending school and is marked as illiterate⁹⁾ though this is likely an error as all following censuses mark her as literate. The 1940 census lists her highest level of education as the 8^th grade.¹⁰⁾
